He pioneered crop rotation and promoted peanuts as a crop in the South as an alternative to cotton. His research made him influential, culminating with his testimony before congress in 1921. He didn’t let his rough beginnings or later discrimination hold him back from achieving much.

The model t: The automobile industry had developed since the 1870s but the cars were too expensive for average people. Ford invented the model T in 1908 by perfecting the assembly line process and interchangeable parts. The model T became the worlds first truly affordable mass produced car, giving families mobile freedom. Ford cars were so cheap and benefit laden they sold themselves by word of mouth. Ford changed the world and increased our independence, and he also helped create the grilling industry.

Semi-automatic shotgun: Mormonism was founded by Joseph Smith in New York in the 1820s, but most moved to Utah in 1844 with Brigham Young. John Browning, a Mormon, left Winchester and invented the Semi-Automatic Shotgun in 1898. The Semi-Automatic shotgun automatically loads the next round after firing the arising round, allowing for rapid shooting. It was advertised to Hunters and sportsmen. Browning was able to develop several other guns and shape the entire firearms industry for 100 years.

The skyscraper: The skyscraper was made possible because of a combination of previous inventions that became before it. William Jenney an accomplished engineer invented the skyscraper in 1884, after noticing a bird cage . The skyscraper allows more people and businesses to occupy popular, but limited, areas. A skyscraper boom unfolded in Chicago and New York following the construction of the home insurance building in 1884, it changed the building design, how they look, accelerated the economy, and led to 9/11 and the ”War On Terror”

The can opener; After Alpert invented canning, the tin can rose in importance as a method for delivering food to soldiers. William Lyman applied his metal working skills to invent the Rotary can opener in 1870. It makes opening cans easy for even children but especially for cooks in the home kitchen. the can opener became more important because it made canned goods more important.

Clothe hanger- Clothing were stored by folding and placing them in chests or drawers until the 1800s O.A. North invented the clothes hanger in 1869. They allow you to hang clothes neatly and densley in small areas, like closets. The hangers were popular in small new york apartments. and the modern wire hanger was invented in 1903 They led to the rise of walk-in closets and the practical obsolescence of chests and armoires.

The covered wagon was the ancestor of the chuck wagon and helped settle the mid west. Charles Goodnight invented the chuck wagon when he moved to into cattle driving The chuck wagon is a portable kitchen that stored food and let the cook prepare meals for the trail cowboys . The lure of beef profits increased number of cattle drives, which drove demand for the chuck wagon . Cattle driving was a definitive period of the wild west and left a lasting impact on history.

Scientific American magazines was founded in 1845 and published news stories and the latest patents. Inventor J.J. Richardson patented the ratcheting socket wrench through the magazine in 1863. It uses a ratchet to allow motion in only one direction which speeds up the rate at which nuts and bolts can be tightened. J.J. Richardson advertised his wrench in the magazine, which generated sales by targeting interested audiences.
